ULEN, Minn. - Nearly EVERY fire department in Clay and Norman Counties fought an out-of-control grass fire today.

The fire started around 4:30 just west of Ulen. The Sheriff's Office says crews fought the fire for more than an hour.

The grass fire consumed more than 650 acres and damaged an abandoned home.

They say the fire grew out of control because of dry weather.

Clay Co. Sheriff Bill Bergquist says, "very dry and it doesn't take much and it's gonna go, it has enough wind right now so it's pushing it pretty quick."

Authorities are still trying to figure out how it started.
