Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) -- Joe Mays, Craig Dahl, Chris Kuper and Jim Kleinsasser are just some of the local college players to make an impact in the NFL recently. Now a pair of recently graduated Bison are trying to join that group.

Offensive lineman Paul Cornick and Tight End Matt Veldman are both headed to an NFL training camp next week.

But, before they depart they're getting in some workouts at the University of Minnesota. Veldman is headed to Jacksonville Jaguars camp, while Cornick is bound for New York to join the Jets camp. Cornick, was an All-American for the National Champion Bison, and says he's ready for this new challenge.

Cornick says, "It's close. It's a few days away now and it still doesn't even seem real. But, I'm ready. I've worked hard and I'm ready to go compete. You always dream about playing in the NFL as a kid, but once you get older and older you keep excelling at your position. Last year and the year before I started to realize that it's a possibility. Just to have the opportunity to play in the NFL is cool. Obviously, not a lot of people get that chance. So, it's definitely a dream come true."

Cornick reports to camp on Monday, while Veldman has to be in Jacksonville on Thursday.
