New DNA evidence could help solve a murder from the 90's

Moorhead, MN (WDAY TV) -- New DNA evidence uncovered by a forensic evidence, could help solve a Moorhead murder from the mid 90s.

Moorhead, MN (WDAY TV) -- New DNA evidence uncovered by a forensic evidence,

could help solve a Moorhead murder from the mid 90s.

The DNA is in connection to the death of 22 year old Renae Nelson. She disappeared in October of '94, her body was found about 5 months later near the Red River.

Police say the top suspect in the case remains Floyd Todd Tapson. He's currently serving a sentence in Montana for kidnapping and attempted murder.

Police say in that case he abducted a 22 year old woman, who like Nelson, was developmentally disabled.
