Batman fans battle the heat, crowds for Dark Knight Rises

Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) -- Midnight movies across the country have turned into a spectacle. Hundreds of people camping out over night to get the best seat, and this summers blockbuster, The Dark Knight Rises, could break records. But is it a hot enough ticket to battle the heat?

Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) -- Midnight movies across the country have turned into a spectacle. Hundreds of people camping out over night to get the best seat, and this summers blockbuster, The Dark Knight Rises, could break records. But is it a hot enough ticket to battle the heat?

The line has been growing all night. Five theaters are sold out. That's hundreds of people here to see the latest batman movie. A lot of hype behind this one. Some experts say the debut will break records - so the fact only 3 people camped out this afternoon will tell you just how hot it was in Fargo.

This is the 4th time Adam Gustad has been first in-line for a midnight movie. He says this one is the most challenging - fighting this heat. He got here Wednesday afternoon.

He was in the exact same spot, four years ago to this day. That's when Dark Knight premiered. He's more prepared for a smooth showing this time.

Adam Gustad - Waiting in Line: "Didn't really go to sleep that night. Fell asleep about 6:30 in the morning. The sun came out, got absolutely roasted. Now I got a little more smart."

Allison Gibson - Battling the heat: "I wasn't as prepared as I thought I was. I only brought 3 things to drink, which wasn't adequate so I bought 2 more bottles of water and I may have to go get more."

Todd: "What's easier heat or cold?"

Mat Miller - In line for Dark Knight Rises: "I'd say cold just because you can bring you can always bring blankets but you can't bring an air conditioner out here or anything."

The movie theater was letting groups in early to get them out of the warmth that's still out here tonight. Hopefully there's no heat fatigue, the shows run time is a whopping 164 minutes.
