Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) -- There is no question the tens of thousands of people here at the street fair are battling the heat, but some of the youngest people walking Broadway today stumbled on a welcome sight - water and an inflatable toy.
There is no question you need to be prepared to beat the heat if you come to the street fair. You not only need to bring water, it doesn't hurt to play in it either.
There just wasn't any better place for a little person than a big slide and a whole lot of water. For the first time ever, the street fair allowed the giant water slide from Games Galore, knowing we could have a festival run of heat and humidity. Today, that prediction was spot on. Little Abby Gwynn could not get enough of it.
Jenny Gwynn - Fargo: "Sliding down and getting fully wet, they are soaked now, we wish we had brought a towel, but they'll dry."
Dan Gwynn - Fargo: "This is great. I walked by and it was definitely worth the price for my kids to have this much fun. It's hard to get them to drink enough water so this is good to cool them off too."
William Gelling turned the water slide into his own little cool down water world. Flipping--flopping...
William Gelling – Fan of Waterslide: "Lunge, jump, do whatever you want, slide, and then you can do it all again."
Slipping sliding into his own wonderful wetness.
William Gelling: "I'm better, feeling better."
So as thousands walked Broadway, sweating in the sweltering summer sun, it would the little ones, who would leave the street fair refreshed and rarin' to go.
With warm temps sticking around the entire weekend, the water slide located on the north end of the US Bank Plaza will likely be a destination.
