Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - Despite today's hot conditions, more than 130 golfers took a swing at Osgood golf course to celebrate Breast Cancer Survivors and raise awareness.

Survivors, their families and friends dawned special pink outfits to celebrate the event. Money raised will go to the Sanford Embrace Program, the Breast Friends support group and the Susan G. Komen foundation.

Breast Cancer effects one in every eight women during their lives. Osgood Pro Lisa Schwinden says she started the event 9 years ago after seeing the success of a similar outing in Minneapolis.

Lisa Schwinden – Osgood Golf Pro: “The golf is, we're not going for course records, but you'll see lots of teams dressed up in uniforms and fun costumes and it's really just a fun event that celebrates our friends and family members.”

The event is expected to raise more than $1,000.
