Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - Close to 150,000 people will descend on Fargo's downtown later this week as the big Street Fair kicks off Thursday. Organizers have some words of advice for dealing with the heat.

With hot weather forecast into the week the Street Fair staff will have a misting tent located near the US Bank plaza downtown. Extra water will be brought in and will be for sale.

F-M Ambulance will also have a presence during the Fair in case people suffer heat stress. The big thing organizers emphasize is to be hydrated and perhaps leave pets at home and out of the heat.

Mike Hahn – Downtown Community Partnership: “As far as not to bring when we have oppressive heat we would ask that people not bring pets to the street fair and they get hot and aggravated in a dense environment and that is something we do not want to put on the people or pets as well.”

Don't forget the Forum Communicatons Pork Chop stand Thursday near the US Bank Plaza. WDAY personalities will be serving Underwood Lions Chops.
