Lisbon, ND (WDAY TV) -- There are now 9 cities in North Dakota to apply a smoke-free ordinance.
It comes as the Lisbon city council just put it into law. It covers all public places and workplaces, including bars.
Lisbon joins, Bismarck, Cavalier, Devils Lake, Fargo, Grand Forks, Napoleon, Pembina and West Fargo as cities with smoke free policies. A 10th could come as early as August 6th when Linton city council votes.
Signatures are being collected for a ballot initiative to put a statewide smoking ban on all indoor workplaces. Smoke-Free North Dakota needs more than 13,000 signatures by August 9th.
