Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) -- It can be a painstaking process for all us non-math majors. Trying to keep track of all the calories we're putting in our body to maintain a healthy lifestyle. But you can put down the calculator...

It's a typical lunch for me, tuna sandwich, carrots, maybe some chips if I'm feeling frisky. How many calories? I have absolutely no idea. But I should. Well, finally, there's an App for that.

With the MyFitnessPal App I can see that this average size lunch is going to run me about 400 - 600 calories, depending on if I'm in a Doritos kind of mood.

To get started the MyFitnessPal App will ask you basic information. What's your height, your weight, do you want to lose weight or gain weight, do you have a timeline for your goal?

Then just start logging. The App features more than 1-point-7 million different food items for you to track. From raw vegetables to fast-food cheeseburgers.

MyFitnessPal will also keep track of your exercise regimen. Simply log in what you did that day, whether cardiovascular, strength training, or both...then it will also show how many calories you burned.

Then to see your progress, just check your weekly or monthly summaries.

Just remember, be honest, don't lie...as coach always said, the only person you're hurting is yourself.

The My-Fitness-Pal App is available on both the iPhone and Android.
