Part of the region is under severe drought conditions

Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) -- This might sound unusual but parts of our region are under severe drought conditions.

Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) -- This might sound unusual but parts of our region are under severe drought conditions.

That is the area in orange on the map: parts of northern Cass, Barnes, Griggs, steele, trail, grand forks and nelson counties.

In Minnesota: northern Clay, Norman and Polk counties in our area are experiencing "moderate" drought conditions. The tan shaded counties show a large swath of northwestern and southern Minnesota are dry.
