Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) -- Fargo police are investigating yet another copper theft as the increasingly pricey metal is becoming more and more enticing to thieves.

The theft happened overnight at Bergstrom Electric in North Fargo. Police believe the burglars broke in through the back door and utilized the company's own crane to steel hundreds of pounds of copper.

Police say they have a few leads but are stressing that construction companies need to be more proactive.

Lt. Joel Vettel - Fargo Police Department: "Prevention is the way to go because if we are swimming up stream once the crime has been committed and then we have to try to solve that crime, many times there aren't as many clues as we'd like there to be and the evidence isn't always there to bring those people to justice."

If you have any information, you are asked to call Fargo Police.
