Cass County Judge investigated for sexual harassment claims

State court officials looked into the matter involving East Central District Judge Wickham Corwin, an elected official in the fourth year of a six-year term. It was turned over to state lawyers because of the potential for a future claim.
Corwin admitted to investigators he told the woman he was attracted to her and wanted a more personal relationship.
Corwin told The Forum newspaper that the report "correctly concludes" he did not intend to threaten the court reporter or make her work environment uncomfortable.
The allegations surfaced when the judge criticized the woman's work performance. She has not filed a formal complaint.
