WILLISTON, N.D. (AP) — United Airlines plans service between the hub of western North Dakota's booming oil patch and Denver.

U.S. Sen. John Hoeven says three daily flights between Williston and Denver will begin November 4th. The North Dakota Republican says the aircraft will be regional jets that can hold 50 passengers.

Williston's Sloulin Field International Airport is becoming one of the busiest in the state because of the oil activity. State Aeronautics Commission data show that in May, boardings there were up 47 percent over the previous year to an all-time record.

The city is considering expanding the airport or building a new one.
