Santa Cruz, CA (WDAY TV) -- A California kayaker got off easy -- after a shark attacked his kayak --- leaving the raft with a scratch, and him a shark tooth souvenir.
It happened in Santa Cruz yesterday morning. The Sheriff's Office there says the 52-year-old man was fishing when a shark lifted up his kayak, attacking its front end.
The man fell out of the 13.5-foot kayak but was quickly rescued by a nearby boater.
He didn't have any injuries. He says the shark was between 14 and 18 feet long, but didn't know what kind of shark it was.
