Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) -- Costs are climbing for a project that will make you rethink your routes to get around in downtown Fargo.

Fargo's City Engineer says it will cost about $10 million to turn NP and First Avenues into two-ways.

Each avenue will have two lanes in the current direction, one lane in the opposite direction, and a bike lane. Crews will also revamp crumbling brickwork and aging infrastructure, some of the oldest in town.

It will be paid for with infrastructure sales tax funds and special assessments. The 3 year-long construction project could start as early as next year.
