Mans flees police after short car chase

Moorhead, MN (WDAY TV) -- A driver heading the wrong direction on a Moorhead road tried to use the strategy of crossing state lines, going into Fargo to dodge police.

Moorhead, MN (WDAY TV) -- A driver heading the wrong direction on a Moorhead road tried to use the strategy of crossing state lines, going into Fargo to dodge police.

When officers approached the car in the Hjemkomst parking lot, the driver took off, darting over the 1st avenue bridge into Fargo.

Police say the driver went through a red light on 2nd street and collided with another vehicle. The person still didn't stop, but shortly after the accident ran into a fire hydrant on 1st avenue.

The driver fled before police arrived. Two passengers in the car were taken to the hospital for non life-threatening injuries.

The chase happened around 2:30 Saturday morning.
