Mosquitoes are on the rise

Minnesota (WDAY TV) -- The recent heat wave throughout most of our area is slightly subsiding, but another pesky problem will be popping up - mosquitoes.

Minnesota (WDAY TV) -- The recent heat wave throughout most of our area is slightly subsiding, but another pesky problem will be popping up - mosquitoes.

The insects just had a perfect month for breeding -- warm temperatures and moist grounds. Some traps in the cities are catching double the number of mosquitoes compared to average.

Mosquitoes live 4 to 5 weeks, but each round of rainfall breeds another round of mosquito families.
