Fargo man hit by boat propeller remains hospitalized

Minneapolis, MN (WDAY TV) - Fargo North graduate and hockey player Nick Schmit remains at Sanford with serious, multiple injuries after being hit by a boat propeller.

Minneapolis, MN (WDAY TV) - Fargo North graduate and hockey player Nick Schmit remains at Sanford with serious, multiple injuries after being hit by a boat propeller.

The Otter Tail County Sheriff's Office confirmed today investigators are awaiting results of blood alcohol tests. They could determine if any charges are filed in the accident.

The Sheriff's Department says 19 year old Lucas Buerkley of Fargo was the driver of the boat. The accident happened on the north side of West McDonald Wednesday.

Schmit was taken by ambulance to Perham and then Lifeflighted to Sanford.
