Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) -- Shanley standout basketball player AJ Jacobson will be gunning for a state championship when the high school hoops season begins this winter. But the following winter, he'll be a Bison.
The 6-5 Senior guard verbally committed to NDSU this morning.
Jacobson's also had an offer to go to Cal Poly, but he told me NDSU feels like home. As a Junior, he led the Deacons to a state runner-up finish, while averaging 24 points and 11 rebounds per game.
I asked him how plans on handling the pressure of playing college ball in his own home town.
Jacobson says, " I think it will just be fun. I look at it as that it's going to be a good time. I don't feel the pressure or anything. I just don't think about it too much. They're on the uprise right now. They are getting better. They're going to have a good chance in the next couple years to make it to the NCAA tournament and that's ultimately the goal of any college player."
