BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — McHenry County has received a grant from the state worth more than $250,000 to help local residents rebuild homes damaged by flooding last year.

Gov. Jack Dalrymple says the Housing Rehabilitation and Citizen Retention Grant will be available to McHenry County residents who need assistance in covering the costs of rebuilding homes. The money can also go toward covering a portion of the closing costs to buy a new home if the homeowners were not able to remain in their flood-damaged home.

Residents can go to www.sourisbasin.org to fill out an application for grant money.
