(WDAY TV) -- After being disqualified, then eventually reinstated into the womens 15-hundred meter final at the U-S Olympic Trials, Perham's Gabriele Anderson was simply happy to still have the opportunity to earn an Olympic berth. Tonight she was part of the best field of U-S women ever in the 1500.

Anderson, wearing all pink--very symbolic, as a 2 time cancer survivor had to not only finish in the top 3, but also run a personal best of 4:06 or better, the "A" Olympic standard.

Things were bunched up, so halfway thru, Anderson had to move to the outside to find space.

She was in 5th starting the final lap...her strong final kick is something she's known for...but on this day, the former Minnesota Gopher was a bit too far back to make a charge.

Anderson finished in 4th place, running a 4:07. Morgan Uceny won in 4:04...So the Perham native comes up just short of making the Olympic team. Still, what a run it's been!
