Minnesota (WDAY TV) -- There is a fast, physical and fun sport, chasing down others across the country and in Minnesota.

The national federation of State High School Sports Associations says Lacrosse grew 528% nationally between 1990 and 2008.

And that has echoed in Minnesota. Girls Lacrosse started in 2002 with 9 teams, there are now 63. Boys teams went from 32 to 58 in that time. And there are now 6,000 youngsters playing each year.

The biggest eye catcher is how this sport is taking these players away from other sports.
