Moorhead, MN (WDAY TV) -- Hundreds of people in need in the Metro got to spend their day " Poverty Free."

The Convoy of Hope stopped Moorhead on it's 50 state tour. The organization helps underprivileged people get groceries and connect with social services organizations.

People took family photos, got medical examinations, and got a free pair of shoes. The best part about it... it's completley free.

One mom says it is easy to have these services offered all in one place.

Heather Smit of Moorhead says, "get to the store just to go get shoes, with school coming around the corner gets even harder. A lot of free things going on today that we just want to encourage people with and let them know theres someone who cares."

Nearly one thousand people volunteered at todays event.
