Detroit Lakes is a step closer to keeping traffic down on the highways

Detroit Lakes, MN (WDAY TV) -- Detroit Lakes is a step closer to finalizing a plan that will keep in-town traffic off of the highways.
The plan will add a frontage road along highway 10 and 59. Mn-DOT met with agencies and businesses today for input, and then this public information meeting tonight.
Project Designers say the roadway as-is could lead to a horrendous crash at some point.
Tom Lundberg, MN-DOT Engineer, says, "anytime you're mixing local traffic with through traffic you have different speeds and you have that potential."
If all goes to plan, shovels will hit dirt in 2015.
