Washington, DC (WDAY TV) -- North Dakota State Senator Judy Lee of West Fargo says the effects from this ruling wont been seen in the coming months, but down the road we will hit some bumps.

She says we will see higher premiums, especially younger people.

Also businesses providing insurance to their employees may stop, because the penalty cost for not providing is cheaper.

Lee does say one positive is that states will be able to decide whether or not to provide medicaid to more people.

Senator Judy Lee says, "we would have to cover an additional almost 33 thousand people if the feds were requiring us to meet the criteria they put in place as laws, so the good news is about this Supreme Court ruling that is says that the states won't have to do it under the threat of losing all of their medicade dollars."

Lee says although some people don't agree with the ruling, it is law.
