Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - The Army Corps of Engineers is hosting a contracting seminar Wednesday and Thursday to get feedback about the preliminary diversion design.

Dozens of local contractors met Wednesday at the Holiday Inn in South Fargo to give their input on the Diversion design.

Contractors offered ways they felt could improve the design and maybe shave some costs. The Army Corps of Engineers says it's important to get community wide input on such an incredible project.

Kevin Henricks – US Army Corps of Engineers: “Hopefully by their feedback, we'll be able to save the taxpayers money and in the long run it will be completed for less than what we think it will be.”

The Corps of Engineers will guide the contractors through the bidding process and how to properly file all the government paperwork on Thursday.
