Although the Fargo area has been somewhat insulated from the economic recession, one man says the community still has room for improvement.

Charles Marohn led a Curbside Chat at the Fargo Theatre today to talk about the city's strengths and weaknesses.

It's a conversation about the economic health of cities. The main focus is downtown Fargo; looking at everything from money to infrastructure to growth.

He says that while many cities focus on expansion, the best thing to do is to focus on downtown.

Charles Marohn – Strong Towns, Speaker: "When you look at the productivity of those places, financially, Downtown Fargo is immensely productive and there's cities across the country that would die to have what we've got here."

Curbside Chats are held across the country. This was the first one held in Fargo.
