Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) -- It's an event that brings out celebrities each year, and more importantly raises thousands of dollars for some great causes.

The 29th annual Roger Maris Celebrity golf tournament teed off this morning at Edgewood golf course.

Plenty of smiles and laughter were in the air, while several former NFL and Major league baseball stars shared stories.

Former Bison safety Craig Dahl was among this year's guests. Dahl is entering his 6th season as a pro, and his 4th year with the St. Louis Rams. And coming off a 2-win season, Dahl is hoping for some better luck for his team and himself.

Dahl says, "It was a struggling season. We were faced with a lot of injuries and a tough schedule. But, that's no excuse. I think the team is growing. We are developing a lot of younger guys. I think just trying to stay healthy has been a big challenge for me this far and keeping on top of maintenance to keep the body feeling right."

The Maris celebrity golf tournament wraps up with two more rounds tomorrow.
