World's Ugliest Dog contest in California

Petaluma, CA (WDAY TV) -- It's an honor no man or woman would likely want -- being referred to as the most ugly person in the world.

But Mugly, a Chinese crested seems to be loving his new title as the World's Ugliest Dog at a contest in California. That's because the honor comes with a one year supply of dog treats - plus 1 thousand dollars cash for his owner..

His short snout, beady eyes, and white whiskers helped him earn the title.

He beat out 28 other dogs from around the world.

Bev Nicholson, Mugsly's owner, says, "I just think now the world can see, the whole world can see what a lovely dog he is and they can see the beauty inside and out"
