Bittersweet Day for UND Hockey Fans

Grand Forks, ND (WDAY TV) -- It's a bittersweet day for UND hockey fans, as next year's season schedule was officially released. It will be the final year that Dave Hakstol's bunch will play for a WCHA title.

That still sounds odd doesn't it? It's an curious start to the season, anyway.

UND opens the regular season against the Alaska schools in a tournament

hosted by Fairbanks on October 19th. 7 days later, they play the Seawolves AGAIN to open the home schedule.

Other highlights include a trip to play Notre Dame and an outdoor game against Nebraska-Omaha.

But, perhaps the toughest tickets will be a road trip to Minnesota and a home series with Wisconsin, both of whom are bound for the Big Ten hockey conference.
