West Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) -- Another trip to West Fargo is in the books for Sprint Cup Champion Tony Stewart. And again he leaves empty handed.

Stewart had to fight his way back after taking fourth in his heat...

He did just that winning his B-main. Slotting him 16th for the feature start. He made good ground climbing all the way up to a 7th place finish. But the big mover was Fargo's Matt Aukland.

Aukland starting 11th, grooved his way to the front early and never let go holding on for the win.

Tony says, "with the rain that they had, I thought that the guys did a really good job of getting the track ready. To have weather like that, to have the staff here at Red River Valley Speedway get this in raceable condition is pretty cool tonight."

Matt Aukland, winner of late model feature, says, "It means a lot to us, it's a big race there are a lot of good drivers here other than Tony Stewart. Tony is obviously the most proven driver, he's had the most accomplishments and I am in no way, shape, or form trying to say I out drove Tony Stewart. My car just happened to be better than his tonight."

Stewart told us after the race, that he plans on coming back again next summer.
