JAMESTOWN, N.D. (AP) — Members of a North Dakota church youth group that has been in the Minnesota city of Duluth since Sunday are safe after major flooding there.

The Rev. Suzi Orlopp tells The Jamestown Sun that the nine children and three adults on the St. John's Lutheran Church mission trip are staying in a building that was not affected by the flooding caused by torrential rains this week, though the street outside of it was.

The flooding washed out roads, submerged a zoo and forced several people to evacuate their homes. Orlopp says it's "a little crazy" in the city.

The Jamestown group has helped haul water out of a church basement and plans to help out at a church set up as an emergency shelter.
