Washington dealing with debris from Japan tsunami

Washington (WDAY TV) - Washington is trying to clean up a massive mess washing ashore from the sea. Debris from the March 2011 tsunami is reaching the state's coast from Japan. Drift wood, Styrofoam and other trash, all washing up.
Governor Chris Gregoire announcing a state plan to address the issue, but urging federal help. Her cabinet is working on the effort. She says she doesn't have financial resources to turn money over to local governments. The concern is over who will pay for cleanup and contamination.
Governor Chris Gregoire – (D) Washington: “We have no readings that are out of the ordinary and we don't expect to find any in the future.”
Kayakers are surveying the state's most remote beaches for debris. They've found part of a house, toilet, even a washing machine.
