The Moorhead Police Department is doing its part to cut down crime and cut down the number of kids being bored this summer. Two-hundred 8-to-12 year olds are taking part in the Moorhead Police Summer Youth Program. It's a 7-week program that meets every Wednesday, where kids learn everything from bike safety to prescription drug abuse. The program includes lunch and a fun recreational activity, all of which is free. Today they went bowling.
Leann Wallin – Community Police Coordinator: "Their very excited. It's our first week, and we have a lot of new eight year olds starting out in the program so they are very excited."
The subject they talked about today was shoplifting.
