Thousands of Minnesotans are without power today, after storms rolled thru early this morning. Winds gusts topped more than 80-miles an hour. The storm toppled trees, and ripped off shingles and entire roofs. This 40-year old tree was uprooted, and blown into the house. Highs are forecast in the 90's today, with high humidity. Making matters worse, evening thunderstorms are expected.
Tim O’Keefe – Hastings, MN: “There was a dull thud. And I just walked over a few feet, looked out the window and realized there is now a big tree pressing against the house.”
In Apple Valley, a row of power lines were snapped on Pilot Knob Road. At one point, 80-thousand people were without power. It should be restored by 11 o'clock tonight.
