West Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - West Fargo is ready to spend thousands of dollars on a feasibility study for a new community center and aquatics facility. Mayor Rich Mattern says the study will be capped at $60,000 and likely cost around $40,000. He says the current public swimming facilities in West Fargo are outdated.
This will be a joint project between the staff of the City, Parks and the School District. The study will look at how the facility could be paid for, the size of the pool and whether the pool will be indoor, outdoor or both.
Mayor Rich Mattern – West Fargo: “People need to understand that will probably go away, in my mind, as part, to help pay operating costs, that there would be a charge, like other cities do.”
The final cost is estimated to be between 16 and 22 million dollars.
