The next four weeks is the most important for college basketball coaches around the country as the recruiting season heats up with the weather. Coaches will have some added help this year thanks to the NCAA, which now allows coaches to text and call an unlimited amount of times. To players who just completed their sophomore years of high school, the NCAA is trying to adjust to the times and allow coaches to build relationships much earlier.

Dave Richman – NDSU Assistant Coach: “You look at today the ways kids are communicating--facebook, texting, times have changed. So the NCAA, we as division one coaches, we've gotta change with that and think this is a great step towards that. The new rules, I think you have a better idea who that kid is your recruiting because your communications have been more. From the time you first identified them, been in contact with them to the day they first set foot on campus. That's the most important piece of this. But yeah, if you're in there early and hey, we were the first ones, we bet on you a little earlier and look how it's turned out.”

Minnesota Preps.com reports that NDSU has 6 offers out to upcoming juniors, trying to replace the current starting lineup for the Bison.
