Troubling news from lakes country. The Minnesota DNR says boaters are violating rules against aquatic invasive species at an unacceptable rate. The agency says the violation rate is 20 percent so far this year, and a majority of those violations could have been avoided. The DNR began extra patrols May 12, and they’ll continue through the summer. Through June 6, conservation officers issued more than 18-hundred citations, some criminal, some civil and some verbal warnings.
