WILLISTON, N.D. (AP) — An old junior high school in the oil boom town of Williston is being converted to low-income housing for seniors.
Officials say the cost of the conversion is pegged at $8.5 million and will be funded in part by government housing programs.
The school building was built in 1931 and has been shuttered for several years. Plans call for 28 one-bedroom apartments and 16 two-bedroom apartments at the newly named Lutheran Social Services Legacy Living facility.
Officials say the project is slated to be completed by October 2013.
