Airline boardings are on the rise in North Dakota

(WDAY TV) -- The oil boom in Western North Dakota, continues to propel the state's economy to new levels.

(WDAY TV) -- The oil boom in Western North Dakota, continues to propel the state's economy to new levels.

That area led the way, as airline boardings throughout the state were up in May by 26 percent from that time last year.

The total number is for all 8 commercial aiports, but Bismarck, Dickinson and Williston had all-time records.

Devils Lake and Jamestown were the only two airports that had a decrease from May 2012 to 2011.
