After 50 years of holding a grudge a man pleads guilty to murder

Watertown, SD (WDAY TV) -- A Watertown, South Dakota man is sentenced to life in prison for shooting a retired teacher and track coach twice in the face.

It was all over a grudge about a prank when the men were in high school.

A prosecutor says Norman Johnson put a jockstrap over Carl Ericsson's head when he was a student sports manager.

More than 50 years later, Ericsson pleaded guilty but mentally ill to second degree murder for shooting his former classmate in January.
