East Grand Forks, MN (WDAY TV) -- A 17-year-old is in critical condition after using synthetic drugs...a problem local police are seeing an increase in.
Just this week a 17-year-old male was transported to Altru after ingesting a synthetic drug in a white powder form.
Area law enforcement have responded to more calls in the past few weeks about the drugs and several arrests have been made for distribution.
Officers say to be cautious and stay away from drugs sold on the street.
Lt. Rodney Haijick with the East Grand Forks Police Dept. says, "it's been an increasing problem these past few weeks where we've sent several, I think it's 5 or 6 young adults to the hospital."
If you find any of these substances you can drop them off at the police station to be destroyed.
