Landline phone service restored in Jamestown area

JAMESTOWN, N.D. (AP) — A severed fiber optic cable line has been repaired in southeast North Dakota and landline telephone service has been restored in the Jamestown region.

JAMESTOWN, N.D. (AP) — A severed fiber optic cable line has been repaired in southeast North Dakota and landline telephone service has been restored in the Jamestown region.

Dakota Central Communications says a Century Link line was cut by a construction crew between Jamestown and Valley City shortly before noon Thursday. Century Link spokeswoman Carrie Amann says repairs were completed about seven hours later.

It was not immediately clear how many people were affected by the outage.
