Montana (WDAY TV) -- National Geographic Channel's "American Colony: Meet the Hutterites" is coming under fire from the faith's bishops.
Montana (WDAY TV) -- National Geographic Channel's "American Colony: Meet the Hutterites" is coming under fire from the faith's bishops.
The three bishops, who represent Hutterite colonies in the US and Canada, said they are "deeply disappointed" in the TV show. The 10 part series began airing last month providing a rare inside look at Hutterite life, focusing on the King Ranch Colony in Montana.
The bishops say the series is a distorted and exploitative image of Hutterites with contrived scenes and dialogue.
The channel did not have immediate comment.
