Cash Mob descends on downtown Grand Forks business

Grand Forks, ND (WDAY TV) - A mob of shoppers hit downtown Grand Forks. The area's first-ever cash mob targeted locally-owned Kittson and Third downtown. Cash mobs encourage large groups of people to visit businesses and spend money to support the owners and the community.

Two women opened the boutique last fall. They were thrilled to hear about this opportunity and hope other businesses benefit.

Nicole Johnson – Kittson & 3rd Co-Owner: “Things like this like the cash mob is a wonderful exposure, especially for younger businesses in the community just to get that time to get the name out there, and to really represent themselves to the community. It’s just a wonderful experience and we're really thankful to have it.”

Sponsors hope to start more cash mobs at locally owned businesses.
