Moorhead rose garden in full bloom

Moorhead, MN (WDAY TV) -- A treat for your eyes and your nose in north Moorhead.

On the west side of the parking lot for the Moorhead dog park, you will find roses of every color and size in full bloom.

The garden was put in to show which varieties of roses work the best in our climate and how gardening can be done with minimal water and maintenance.

Randy Nelson - University of Minnesota Extension Service: "We don't use any winter cover for these roses. They were only watered the first year of establishment. After that no water was applied, and we don't use any pesticides for disease and insect control."

The roses will continue to bloom through the summer but are at their peak right now.
