Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - One of the biggest hot button issues on today's ballot is the decision of whether to abolish property taxes in North Dakota. It's not only making local headlines, but national as well. We've been talking Measure 2 for months, but as voting day is finally here North Dakota has been thrust into the national spotlight.
We start just a few hundred miles away. Above the fold on the front page a Star Tribune teaser reads "Will the North Dakota Property Tax Stay?” Moving to the East Coast, four headlines down on the New York Times Website, "North Dakota voters to decide on abolishing property tax” is featured.
Just because it's a headline, it doesn't mean people are clicking - until you move to the USA Today website, where the North Dakota property tax issue is the most popular article on the website. It also appeared in the print edition of the nationally syndicated newspaper.
The question still remains: will it pass?
