ND winter wheat crop larger than projected

Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) -- North Dakota's record winter wheat crop is expected to be even bigger than initially projected.

Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) -- North Dakota's record winter wheat crop is expected to be even bigger than initially projected.

The crop planted in September is expected to reap 35.3 million bushels next month. That's up two percent from it's May forecast and 154 percent above last year's production.

The wet and late spring is what made the winter wheat planted a better-than-normal crop.

The previous record was in 2009 with 26.2 million bushels.
