WEST FARGO – Construction that has ripped up the parking lot in front of the Veterans Memorial Arena may have caused confusion for some voters, Election Inspector Norene Braaten worries.

Signs at the arena, with a Google map, now direct voters to the nearby Clayton A. Lodoen Kindergarten Center at 330 3rd Ave. E. to vote, but it wasn’t so earlier today.

“People are going over there and having problems,” Braaten said, worried that people long used to voting at the arena may give up going to vote.

Otherwise, Braaten said it appeared that turnout at the Lodoen site was “typical” for a primary election.

The Park District and School District are sharing the cost of replacing the entire parking lot and entrance and exit lanes with concrete. The project, while well under way, will take up much of the summer.
