WEST FARGO – Today was Virginia Satrom’s first time working as an election official, but knowing her day would start about 6 a.m. and end after 8 p.m., she was ready.

“I brought lots of tuna fish sandwiches,” said Satrom, who was working at the polling site located in Holy Cross Catholic Church in West Fargo.

“It’s a wonderful experience. I love it,” she said of the job.

Asked to judge today’s turnout, Satrom said she had nothing to compare it to, but added that it was looking slow as of noon.

Satrom said things were going smoothly this election, though some voters seemed to have trouble voting for just one party, as required in a primary election.

She said any ballot that contained votes for more than one party was rejected and people had three chances to get it correct.
